Safety
The safety and health of our employees, and the entire project team, are a high priority on every Nordby project. Our field managers inspect jobsites daily to ensure proper safety practices are maintained. We prepare a project-specific safety manual to address the jobsite's safety issues. To minimize risk and ensure a safe project, pre-task planning and weekly meetings are conducted at the jobsite. Employees and subcontractors attend "toolbox" meetings led by the superintendent and Safety Director, and discuss specific pre-task planning, safety procedures, and potential jobsite safety risks.
Nordby's Safety Director is responsible for all safety matters related to all projects. Working together with the project manager and project superintendent, a "team" concept around safety is promoted. This multi-level system of prioritizing safety has been a major component of our extremely successful safety program, which has contributed to Nordby's low EMR rate as well as several construction industry safety awards over the past several years.
