Conceptual Budgets to Final Estimates

During preconstruction, the project's design parameters and costs are established in the initial design stage. In this planning phase, Nordby's project team collaborates with the owner and architect to ensure a thorough understanding of the owner's design vision for the project. After reviewing the project's components, conceptual budgets and detailed final estimates are prepared and presented to the owner and architect.

Constructability Reviews

To achieve the overall project objectives, our constructability reviews apply construction knowledge and experience in planning, design, procurement and field operations. Scheduling

We complete our projects on time by establishing an accurate Project Delivery Schedule (PDS) in the preconstruction phase of the project. The PDS is regularly updated, and encompasses the project from conceptual design phase through closeout. It allows the Project Team to identify and proactively solve problems that may impact project delivery.

Safety Program

Safety is a high priority on Nordby projects, and our low EMR rate reflects our dedication to manage safe jobsites. Every jobsite is inspected daily by the Project Superintendent to ensure safe practices are maintained. A jobsite-specific safety manual is created for each project that addresses all pertinent safety issues. All field employees are required to actively participate in our safety program.

Quality Control

The project's quality requirements are clearly communicated to subcontractors and suppliers before work begins to ensure a thorough understanding of both the owner's and Nordby's quality expectations. Daily and weekly job walks are performed by our field managers to examine the quality of materials and work during the project.

Close-Out

Timely close-out of every project is a high priority to our project team members. We begin close-out at the onset of a project, with subcontractor terms and the project schedule clearly identifying such activities as system inspection and pre-punchlist walk-through. At the end of each project, we provide a comprehensive Operating & Maintenance Manual for future care of the facility.
